“Braces are extremely painful”
Modern braces are more comfortable than ever, you might feel some pressure after adjustments, but it's very manageable.
“You can’t eat anything with braces”
There are a few things to avoid, like sticky sweets, but you'll still enjoy a wide range of everyday foods.

It might take a day or two to adjust, but you’ll sound totally normal again very quickly. Most people won’t notice a thing.
What patients often ask us
Not at all. Braces work at any age — the key is healthy teeth and gums. Many adults choose braces later in life for both cosmetic and functional improvements.
There’s no upper age limit. As long as your teeth and bone structure are healthy, braces can still be effective — even into your 50s or 60s.
It depends on your case. For mild adjustments, Invisalign may be quicker. But for more complex alignment issues, traditional braces are often more efficient.
You may feel mild discomfort or tightness after fittings or adjustments, but it usually fades within a couple of days.
They can — subtly. By improving your bite and alignment, braces can enhance the balance and symmetry of your facial structure.
Most patients rate discomfort around 2–3/10, especially in the first few days after adjustments. It’s more pressure than pain — and very manageable.
